First of all, you need to install WPForms on your WordPress site.
After you’ve successfully installed WPForms, then install the Authorize.Net addon and activate the same immediately for your form’s payment processing needs.
Following the following steps:
I – Once the Authorize.net addon is active on your site
II- Open WP Forms » Settings in the left menu of the website
III- Click the Payments tab to set up a profile with information about how you would like payments processing.
If you’d like to adjust the currency before proceeding, select your desired option from the Currency dropdown.
Your next step is to scroll over to the Authorize.Net section.
The task for this section will be to fill out some important keys that connect your site to your Authorize.Net account.
But before that…
These are different for live and test transactions but for now, we’ll focus on just the live ones.
2. Sign in to Authorize.Net
In order to sign in to your Authorize.Net account, don’t forget to open a new tab or new window. This will help you switch back and forth.
Create a new Authorize.Net account in case you haven’t done yet. The link is already given somewhere above.
After logging into your web portal for the first time, make sure that this option is set as live mode.
3. Locate Keys in Authorize.Net
After you’ve logged in and confirmed that your account is active, go to the left sidebar of the Authorize.Net account.
Click on the setting as shown in the screenshot below.
By now you’ll be on the Settings page. Just, click on the API Credential and Key to move forward.
You’ll see API Login ID. Copy the value and go back to your WPForms Settings page and paste the same.

Now that you’ve successfully added your API Login ID, it’s time to paste a transaction key.
The Transaction Key is just below the API Login ID. Your next step is to go back up a little and select Create New Key(s).
Select New Transaction Key as shown below and click on the Submit button.
Verify Your Identity
Upon submitting, you’ll be prompted to verify your identity. Firstly, click the request PIN button on the overlay for this verification process.
It’s important that you provide accurate information and follow all instructions given by Support Center staff in order to complete this task successfully.
Once you submit the request, Authorize.Net will send an email with your PIN to make sure it’s really you.
From there just enter the PIN from the email and click to verify.
Now, your transaction ID will be displayed by Authorize.net to prove that your identity has been verified.
This means that you’re technically eligible for the best rates and terms available on all of their merchant services.
Copy the key in this tab, then switch to your WPForms Settings window.
Then, paste the copied key into the Test Transaction Key field before clicking Save Settings. Now, click the save setting button as shown above
Finally, you should now see a success message at the top of your WPForms Payments page.
Congrats! You have successfully completed (i.e. copy+paste+save) the Transaction Key.
4. Adding Authorize.Net Payment to Your Forms
Since you’ve connected Authorize.Net to your WordPress site, start adding payments with ease by creating a new form or editing an existing one.
You can start by creating a new form or editing an existing one in the next step. For this configuration of Authorize.net and WordPress, you will need at least four fields.
- Name (a required field),
- Email address (another required field),
- Items—either Single Items, Multiple Items; Checkbox items; Dropdown items.
- An Authorize.Net field (for collecting credit card details).
Note: Authorize.Net Payment does not require a total field, but it is useful for users to see how much they’ll be paying from the start.
Once you have completed adding the required field in the form builder, your immediate next step is to go to the Authorize.Net panel of the payment section.
Then, to enable the payment, check the box as shown in the image below.
5. Customize Your Authorize.Net Payment Form Settings
There are a few optional settings after you’ve enabled the payments like payment description and Payment Receipt.
The following first two settings apply to only one-time online payments and not recurring subscriptions.
- Payment Description: When a merchant has an Authorize.Net integration, they have the option to include their payment receipt on the customer’s credit card statement by selecting “Payment Description”. This may appear on the statement of the user’s credit card.
- Authorize.Net Payment Receipt: In the Payment Receipt dropdown, you can choose whether or not to send an email receipt after a transaction is completed.
Selecting Email will give your customer their purchase information in plain text format via email – without any extra clicks for them.
- Customer’s name: When filling out your online form, be sure to enter a name. This will automatically send the customer’s information along with their payment details when they check out at Authorize.Net.
